vélocité, the bicycle at heart

vélocité was born in 1999, instigated by Blaize Felberbaum. over the years, the company ceaselessly developed and widened its services. Dominique Metz and raphaël Faiss, couriers since 2001, took over the management of the company in october 2003. Since then, the company expanded massively.

2010 marks a new important stage in the evolution of vélocité: the departure of its director and the merging with Poste-it cyclomessagerie Sàrl. Indeed, three years after Raphaël Faiss’s departure, it is Dominique Metz’s turn to leave the company he managed for seven years. A Basel-born and and ePFL graduate, Dominique is meeting a new professional challenge in the Zurich region, where he will remain active in the bicycle sector.

As a result of enduring collaborations and shared values, Dominique Metz turned to Paul Kormann and Raoul Payot, the founders of Poste-it cyclomessagerie Sàrl in Neuchâtel and Yverdon-les-Bains, to take over the management of the new structure, together with Xavier schwarz, operational manager of the Lausanne branch.

Besides, vélocité was largely used as a template for Poste-it cyclomessagerie. Paul kormann had indeed worked at vélocité in the six months prior to opening Poste-it cyclomessagerie, which was launched in september 2007. A cooperation between the two companies ensued and intensified along the way, enabling the development of a few projects in common, notably the home delivery service for shopping (Dring Dring, Livraison- les-Bains and Maladière Centre).

Quality remains our main concern as the company evolves. the point of the merger is to strengthen the network’s dynamics, answer to an increasing demand of intercity deliveries, but also to join skills and continue to innovate in a constantly changing sector.

The three entities are now the new vélocité and will pursue the same goal: offer a quality service in Switzerland… fast, reliable and sustainable.
